讲演摘要

Introduction to intelligent systems, including biological neural networks, biologically inspired neural networks, artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary algorithms and hybrid intelligent systems. Then, several applications of advanced intelligent systems to biological systems and biologically inspired systems will be briefly presented. Intelligent sensing, planning, tracking, control, teleportation, and human-robot interaction in various robotic systems are also introduced.

讲演者简介

Prof. Yang received his B.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics from Beijing University in China in 1987, his first M.Sc. degree in Biophysics from Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing in 1990, his second M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston, USA in 1996, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta in Canada in 1999. He jointed the University of Guelph in Canada as an Assistant Professor in Engineering Systems and Computing in August 1999. Currently he is the Director of the Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems (ARIS) Lab at the University of Guelph. Prof. Yang’s research expertise is in the area of Intelligent Systems, Robotics, Sensory Fusion, Intelligent Control and Computational Neuroscience. He has published over 200 journal papers, book chapters and conference papers. Prof. Yang is he is very active in professional activities for international conferences and journals. He is the Guest Editor of the special issue “Biologically Inspired Robotics” of International Journal of Robotics and Automation.
