Speaker: Professor Jack Keil Wolf, Vice President of Engineering, QUALCOMM

Biography :

Jack Keil Wolf received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and the M.S.E., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University. He is the Stephen O. Rice Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a member of the Center for Magnetic Recording Research at the University of California, San Diego. At QUALCOMM, he is a Vice President of Engineering.

Honors:

The 1990 E. H. Armstrong Achievement Award of the IEEE Communications Society, the 1975 IEEE Information Theory Prize Paper Award, the 1998 IEEE Koji Kobayashi Computers and Communications Award, the 2001 Shannon Award of the IEEE Information Theory Society and the 2004 IEEE Hamming Medal. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
